Selected finishing materials in projects

Our offices have many projects in the modern country style.

In this article, we will clarify the material choices we make and why we choose to use them and plan and execute them in this way. We tend to use the highest quality materials available today, and we do this because the finish of the house is a major and important part when building a house.

Finishing materials

Exterior wall cladding:

In the houses we design, we like to use a combination of mineral plaster and brick cladding - demolition bricks. The mineral plaster, being a natural material, gives a natural and warm feeling to the house.

The bricks are demolition bricks, meaning that they undergo natural processing because they previously covered another element, the natural and special processing does not exist when choosing industrial bricks.

It is important for us to use these materials that are natural materials because of the feeling they give to the house, using natural materials even when choosing cold and modern colors, for example, the various gray colors, will still create a warm and rustic but modern feeling.

Roofs:

In our projects, we mainly design tiled roofs, while in certain spaces in the house we like to design exposed wooden beams, with their modern twist being that they are usually whitewashed. When we design the roofs, we consider the overall design of the house and sometimes combine tiled roofs with a flat roof.

In designs where there is a combination of roofs, we make sure to add a decorative cornice element to the flat roof that adds to the rustic feel of the house.

Windows:

When we design windows, we like to use windows with a Belgian profile - an iron profile. Using a profile made of this natural material gives a warm character to the house, at the same time there is the issue of the given budget and we also use Belgian-style aluminum if necessary. In all the windows that we design, regardless of the type of profile, internal divisions are planned according to the character of the house. A denser division enhances the rustic feel of the house compared to the more spacious division that is A more modern language. Sometimes we also add interesting decorations that add to the character of the house.

Pergolas:

In the houses we design, we like to design pergolas. Pergolas provide shade on outdoor paved surfaces and define a space. In our use of pergolas, we like to combine the materials from which it is built and use natural materials: concrete columns with/without brick cladding and a combination of wooden beams, columns and beams made of steel in a design that incorporates vegetation, etc. Each pergola is designed in a harmonious way that complements and compliments the materials and design of the house. In addition to combining these natural materials, we design decorative details for the pergola, which emphasize the stylistic character of the house.

External surface paving:

In external surface paving, we like to use natural stones. We mainly use bricolage in burgundy and becket paving.

Bricolage is made of brick bricks – demolition bricks, When we have a brick wall cladding in a house, we will make sure to match the shade of the bricolage to the bricks we tested for wall cladding.

The burgundy is made of natural stone tiles in different sizes, and they can be laid in different shapes.

The bricolage and burgundy are reminiscent of the paving stones on the old streets of Europe.

The deck is made of wood, which is a natural material, and gives a warm feeling even before we enter the house.

We like to use these materials because they are natural materials.

Built-in fireplace:

Many projects plan fireplaces, in the projects we plan, we think about the fireplace from the beginning and plan it as an integral part of the house as a built-in fireplace. The feeling you get when you have a built-in fireplace in the house is a warm, homely, rustic feeling. At the same time, the design of the built-in fireplace differs from house to house, and the fireplace can be modern or rustic, depending on the stylistic line that accompanies us at home.

In conclusion, using natural materials is part Essential in achieving a warm feeling in home design.
